Administration Message
Dear Kenneth D. Taylor Families,
As we move into October, we want to thank you for helping make the start of the school year such a positive and successful one. Our students have settled into their classrooms, built new friendships, and are already engaging in meaningful learning experiences.
This year, our school community is exploring an important question:
What does it take to build a safe and caring community where everyone feels they belong?
Throughout the year, students will engage in conversations, learning activities, and collaborative experiences that encourage kindness, empathy, respect, and a sense of responsibility toward one another. We believe that strong relationships are at the heart of student success, and we look forward to working together with students, staff, and families to strengthen our school community.
As part of this work, students will continue to develop their writing skills by reflecting on their experiences, sharing their ideas, and communicating their thinking in meaningful ways. We are excited to see our students grow as writers while exploring what it means to be positive contributors to our school and the broader community.
As the weather begins to cool, please ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for outdoor learning and recess. Layered clothing, jackets, hats, mittens, and suitable footwear will help students stay comfortable as temperatures change throughout the day.
Please label all of your child’s clothes with their first name. Our lost and found is already getting very full. You are welcome to come into the school at any time to check for your child’s belongings.
Teachers continue to send weekly messages to families with important classroom updates, learning highlights, and upcoming events. If you are not receiving communications from your child's teacher, please contact the school office so we can ensure your contact information is up to date.
Our classroom-based sharing assemblies will continue throughout the year, providing students with opportunities to showcase their learning, celebrate successes, and strengthen connections within our school community. Please watch for information from your child's teacher regarding presentation dates.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are creating a school where every student feels welcomed, valued, safe, and inspired to learn. We look forward to a wonderful month ahead.
Warm regards,
Adam Topp
