This first half of the year has gone by so fast! We have been working on learning so many different skills and instruments, and our work has only just begun!

Some of the instruments that we have been working with are:

• Rhythm Sticks
• Body Percussion
• Xylophones
• Various Percussion Instruments (Gyros, Bells, Blocks, Ribbed Rhythm Sticks)
• Vocal Singing Development

Some of the concepts and skills that we have begun developing during the first half of our year are:

• Creating a story through words, actions and dancing to music
• Using different instruments to represent different parts of a song
• There are different parts to a song (chorus, verse, endings)
• That music is a language that you can learn to read and write
• Learning the different types of notes and their lengths
• Learning how to read music notes on the Treble Clef scale
• Recognizing the different parts of the musical scale and what they represent 

It has been amazing watching every student grow in their confidence and abilities when it comes to music. Whether it is through singing, dancing, or playing an instrument. I am so excited to see what the second half of our year will bring!
